College Football Predictions

College football is right around the corner.

 

What four teams do you think will make the playoffs?

 

I think:

Alabama

Ohio State

Florida State

Southern Cal

 

And you say...............

I think it will be a beauty contest like it is every year. The SEC will play nobody out of conference and when they beat up each other in league play they will say look how great it is. The pac 12 nobody will watch because the games are on so late but USC will get hyped by the media. The big Ten will be Ohio State and nobody else yet they will lose one game. The big 12 will have one really good team and a 2-5 in the league pick out of a hat. The acc will have 3 really good teams and nothing else.

 

the 4 you picked will likely be there because they will be rated that high to start the season and the media will keep them there. Until we go to 8 team playoffs it is still a beauty show.

Picking the top 4 seems to easy for me.

Oklahoma

Penn State

3 USC (Loses 1 Stanford or Texas)

4 (Sleeper Pick) Florida (Upsets Michigan, FSU, LSU. loses the SEC Champ Game but gets in on resume)

That's what was reported on Sirius Radio's college football station yesterday.

 

Seems the other two guys may be stronger passers and runners but Ziare has a better grasp of the playbook.

 

Will be interesting to see if Franks gets in this year or he redshirts. And from the Florida reports, Franks wants to play, now.

Franks red shirted last year. I think he is going to transfer with Zaire starting this season and next season competing with Jake Allen and Kadarious Toney he will likely get beaten out again. Toney played better than any QB in the Spring Game and I'm expecting great things from Toney next season.

I hate to see that.  Franks was tops on LSU's list two years ago and he was committed to LSU when Florida made the flip.

 

Remember Gunner Kiel? He committed to LSU and then went to Notre Dame where he played behind Golson. Since Golson was so good he left Notre Dame and went to Cincinnati. Golson was thrown off the team and Gunner was not there to replace him. Kiel just disappeared at Cinncy and was not drafted by any NFL team.

 

Not saying Zaire will get injured or thrown off the team, but if Franks leaves the Gators he will have to sit out a year unless he goes to a Division II school.

 

If Franks had gone to LSU he would be in line to be the starter for the next two years unless he could break into the depth chart ahead of Etling. LSU had no choice but to go out and get two top quality quarterbacks when Franks could be starting for the Fighting Tigers this year and the next two or three years.

 

If Franks does leave Florida I will be surprised.  But if he does, it will be interesting to note if he is allowed to transfer to another SEC school.  Stay tune.

When Jacob Eason decomitted to Georgia and almost flipped to Florida Franks was ready to transfer. I really think he will be gone if Zaire starts all season and Coach Mac makes frank compete for the next starting job. Franks should be the backup and Morningwig and Del Rio that screwed us last year needs to sit and coach the younger guys coming up.
