Anyone fish out of a Lund Fury?

Hi all,

I have been kind of looking at a Lund 16 ft Fury XL Sport as a possible new boat in the not too distant future. From the pictures it has all the features we are looking for.

But I have yet to see one in person, much less fish out of one, so I was wondering if anyone has one, or spent time on one, and could give me your thoughts on it.

 It would be for me and my wife to bass fish and possibly do some trolling for trout after ice out.

Lund is one of the few boats I would buy sight unseen. I would put them at the top of the list for tins. the only problem is they have a high price tag. there are other boats that fish just as good, but I have seen 50 year old Lunds still going strong.

There are literally dozens of them on my lake.....while I have not fished in one, I would not hesitate  given my time in other Lunds

I'm a big fan of Lunds. We have had a WC Delux  lund for the last 10 yrs. I think the Fury would be a nice up grade for us, but never having been in one ( none of the dealers local have one in stock) I was hoping for feedback on this model. Things like is the casting deck big enough, does it feel roomy enough for 2 people after a full day on the water. Things like that.

I agree with the pro-Lund comments. I just bought a Lund 1650 Rebel XS SS this year, and it's a great boat.  Lunds are very popular on the Great Lakes, recently when pulling out I noticed that 5 out of the seven boats visible were Lunds.  Mine is very well designed, tons of storage under cover, very high structural feel, tracks well at slower speeds, just above a fast troll, which is something that most welded hulls don't do.

To the OP.....if you could swing the impact, you would have a more stable platform along with a few more bells and whistles.  I also think the extra width is a huge plus

If only I could. But the impact starts at $$ 23,095, way out of my price range. The fury starts at $$ 12,095, That I think we can swing.

 

MICK D-- your rebel starts around $$ 4,400 more than the Fury. As a rebel owner would you mind looking at the Fury XL SPORT on the LUND site and letting me know what you think the advantages are of a Rebel over a fury. If it looks worth it I mite try to upsize that much.

While I have never fished from a Fury, I am a Lund owner. I will tell you Lund does not compromise on quality or design and if you do end up getting one, you will have bought a quality rig that should serve you well for many many years. 16 feet will do you fine for 2 people fishing at either end of the boat. The sport track rail brackets aren't cheap and are extremely well made. You can mount any brand rod holders to them and they will hold up. They also have downrigger specific brackets for trolling as well.
