NEW1126 Posted August 10, 2017 Posted August 10, 2017 I am looking for a second opinion on a new rod and reel for light bucktailing. I would like it to be a 6' to 6.6' medium graphite rod able to throw a 3/8 to 1 oz bucktail on 10 lbs braid. Thanks for your opinions, NEW1126 Quote
redmexican5081 Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 neither of those options are going to be able to handle a 3/8 to 1 oz bucktail in a medium power Quote
redmexican5081 Posted August 16, 2017 Posted August 16, 2017 My family only uses Shimano rods when we are fishing the saltwater so my opinion is a bit one sided but I would suggest the Teramar series. I think the 6-6 is a medium fast but only handles up to about 1/2 oz. Our standard is the 7' medium fast for almost all the inshore (flounder/fluke, striper, blue) fishing we do beyond catching bait.
