Is the knob on the Daiwa Fuego 3000 spinning something I could replace with an RCS cork knob or other Daiwa flat rubber knob?  Thanks!

Which Fuego? I have a mk 1 fuego 3000, which has a red body and an external bail trip. The handle knob is riveted on, so you can't change it without a bit of engineering or a new handle.

The one that was just recently replaced by the LT that just came out.  It has the foam round grip.

Don't know then. If you can remove the center cap you should be able to see if there's a slot to put a tool in to undo the knob. If there isn't I guess you can't without replacing the handle.

Yes, but its a bit tricky to get a tool into the two divits on the cap to turn em... Not a fan of the foam "ball"?

What tool did you use?  What cap did you replace it with?  Did you have to twist it out and just pop it out?  I don't want to damage the original knob or cap but would like to replace it.  Thank you!

I believe I took two of the little precision "hobby" style screw drivers with hex or torx heads, put some electrical tape on the ends and pushed and twisted. It wasnt easy and kind of awkward- remember thinking at the time there had to be a better way as it was tight. Didnt replace the knobs, just removing all the excess factory lube from the reel to free it up.

When you did get it free, was there a screw underneath so you could change the knob?  Thanks!
