That is awesome!  I love that he got a shot that sturgeon.  That video just made me want to bounce a tube.

Check out his other videos.  This is just the most recent.  Jim is an avid fisherman, and shares these as a sort of "scene report" to help local guys out.  Basically, this video shows them starting to school up on ledges.  Pretty cool stuff.

Thanks for all the kind words guys. Dove the river yesterday, and the moss wasn't too bad. Light stain with about 10- 12 visibility. Same deal with the bass. find one , there's more there. Gotta go, we are heading out perch fishing from sturgeon Point.

Really enjoyed the video... Solid work... My brother in law and his brother(rip) used to dive the river all of the time.. I absolutely love fishing the river...

      ...does that represent an extremely rich fish population?

The current reminds me of the St. Lawrence; have you ever had a chance to dive there?

From following Jim's videos, the populations move, and are transitory.  In the walleye videos, he was saying he didn't see large schools, but pods of 5 or so.  There's a lot of food in the goby population, so the predators can just wander and eat at will.  It's very fertile.  @jim k might be able to give you a more precise answer, though.

Nice footage. Did everything clear out of there when the musky showed up? Sometimes I wonder if that's what's happening when I'm on a big school of bass and they suddenly disappear. I've followed up by throwing muskie baits in those situations but never had any luck.

A couple of his videos show this, clear as day.  Everything gets out of the way for a big Esox.
