So I'm looking to get my 3rd shimano reel, but can't decide on which to choose, I can get either the curado k for 250 canadian or the chronarch ci4+ for the same price. What do you guys think will hold up better down the road? I know the curado K is still new and hard to tell the longevity of it but I'm sure its going to hold up relatively on par with the older curaodos... Right?

I really just want advice on what's the better reel, I'm open to any other suggestions as well. I'm a big quantum guy and have 6 of their reels. I like shimano because its something different, and has a good rep.

I've fished a Ci4+ and Curado I side by side, still liked the Curado more. I cannot speak for Curado K, however I think the K will be a better reel than the Chronarch Ci4+.

I am on the other side of the fence here.  I tried both and own a few ci4's. It was better in my hands and super smooth.  There isn't a wrong decision hear.

Neither is "better " reel it just comes down to features and what you like.

I want something that is worth the price tag and going to last mechanically. I understand that the chronarch is a 350 dollar reel (canadian) and the new curado is a 250 reel, but if I can get the chronarch for the same price is that the better purchase? I've played with both and they feel as smooth. Just looking for opinions.

Since one of the reels you're looking at is a composite body, and you haven't ruled it out due to that I would suggest you also consider a Casitas MGL.

The Casitas MGL is seriously underrated.

I have both and to me it's a toss up.  Like with pretty much anything it's going to come down to personal preference and feel.

I had a buddy of mine try and convince me to getting that reel a while back. What's the difference between that and the US model? Is it really worth that much more over the US model?

Yes, its worth it.

Personally, for the price, I would rather buy a Tatula CT for the same price as a US Casitas, but the JDM Casitas MGL is worth it if it fits your requirements.
