Pikeing!

So I finally for my brother in law to give up his secret fishing spots today and man was it fun! For some reason this area of the river has pike like they would bass! Got about 7 pike in few short hours with maybe 12 total strikes. All in about the range shown below... we had one on around 38 inches but he got away ?   All in all it's a good day.. safe to say I found my new fishing hole.

Hell yesh! That's the kind of pike I want ha.  I read your story about all the ones you got. That's insane, what lake were you fishing on?

That one is from Lake of the Woods in Canada.

 

...there's fish like that around here too...just fewer of them...or maybe they are just harder to catch.

Yeah they usually seem more picky closer to home .. nice catch though man.  I hope to get one someday that big. The water I fish has some in the 40 inch range and some Muskie in the 50 inch range.. those are rare though... one can dream

It is a blast to catch Pike on a spinner bait. They hit like a freight train!

Seen in another post your from western New York. Try fishing oak orchard or johnsons creek tons of northerns in there. Looks like your in a canoe I can give ya a launch site on johnsons that will get you in for some all day pike action

Yeah that would be awesomen! I just seen this and the other  post.  I would greatly appreciate some great pike action. Where's this launch site at?

Google map search Lyndonville, New York. You will see a creek that runs right threw town. School is on the north side of the creek and a big parking lot on the other side of the creek that's the post office there's a boat launch there canoe and kayaks only. Follow the creek back and there's pike everywhere.

Thanks man that's awesome!! I have to work this weekend. You think they still be biting like crazy next week? And any specific lures?

That area is loaded with pike. Frogs in the Lilly pads and slop will get ya some smaller pike then spinners and chatterbait or swimbait around all the laydowns.
