I'm starting to install a Lowrance Hook 4x Fish Finder that my son got with his money earn from cutting grass this year for his Ascent FS12 sit-in kayak , was planning on putting the battery box behind the seat but come to find out the power cord {red 2 pin 032-0353-02} is only 3 an a half feet long. I need around 10 feet. Ive look at the Lowrance web site and I don't see any 3 wire red cap cable that I can use. What can I use for a extension to connect to my battery box behind his seat? or a 2 wire cable to splice on too.

get some 12g AWG wire from Menards, Home Depot, Lowes, etc and extend the wire. Solder and heat shrink the connections.

Put the 3a fuse on the positive wire at the battery.

If you have a local boat repair shop, you should go there and get marine grade wire, a 3 amp fuse, ring connectors ( for the battery terminal) and shrink tube. Being in a kayak the odds off the wire getting wet are huge. Marine grade wire will not corrode. Heck, you may even get them to put it together for you! Make it bomb proof. He worked hard for it!

I don't think he'll need 12ga wire for a fish finder.  That's a lot too big.  I think my Garmin fish finder recommended nothing smaller than 18ga.  Problem is it's hard to find 18ga wire at a hardware store it seems anymore.  I had to order my marine grade 18ga wire from amazon to wire up my finder.

No, it isn't too big. I wire my boat from units directly to battery with 10g. And there's a reason I, and many others who have had to wire units, recommend using that. The power cord wire is something like 16-18g wire stock. If you extend a wire, you need to be aware of the length you are extending and the amp draw of the unit. The more you extend the wire the more resistance.  12 isnt that large of a wire. He's probably fine with 14.

Thanks guys , just went to my local West Marine Store and was looking at marine grade 18ga 2 wire. I've bought some shrink wrap , butane torch {my old die} and solder for my connection.

Now for a another quick question :  Battery box , he bought one all done from Bass Pro but I need to tie it down will Marine Goo hold straps down like glue ounce it sets?

Except 18ga wire is good for 10A of draw up to 50' when you have 2 conductors.  That finder he has only draws 1.1A.  He'll be fine with it in a 12' kayak.
