Hi I'm looking to get a set up for specifically jigs and I need a reel. I don't want to spend a lot. Something around $100 is fine. But I need to find a reel with a fast gear ration. Something in the high 7's and 8:1's

You can get a Daiwa Tatula CT in 7.3:1 or 8.1:1 for under 100 dollars on ebay, in stored they run 129.99. It's a really good reel for the money. I have a total of 6 reels from the tatula line up and they are all fine reels.

Lew's Speed Spool LFS Series Low-Profil Baitcast Reel 7.5:1, or Abu Garcia Revo SX Baitcast Reel - RVO3 SX-HS 7.1:1, both good reels for the money.

Tatula XS models are 8:1. I use 3 of the original 100XS R's 8:1 going on 4 years now without any issue, good reels for both jigs and worms. The high speed reels help to keep bass under control after they are hooked and assists in my hook setting technique.

TT gave the Fuego CT a Best Value Award.  You can get a RH for $76 or a LH for $78 off ebay.  (Quick search....you may find better deals.)  I've not used the Fuego CT, but I think the Tatula for  $80 would be the better deal....or even at the $97 I found at other places.   https://www.ebay.com/p/2016-Daiwa-Tatula-Ct-Baitcast-Fishing-Reel-100xs-Right-Hand-8-1-1-Tatc100xs/1060510236?var=452172751796

Another good reel in that price range is the Lew's Tournament MG at less than $110 from ebay.  At 6.7 oz. it is a bit lighter than the Tat CT at 7.6 oz. if that makes a difference.

Lews LFS if you dont want to bother with shopping around. If you do its the Lews MB or the Tatula.

I would disagree that a high speed reel, in the 7 something to one range,  is necessary for jig fishing.   Sometimes handy - yes - necessary? --  no.

For me, gear ratio is a secondary consideration for jig fishing.   Reel weight -how it feels on the rod, how it casts - sensitivity are more inportant to me.   Back in the day we thought 5-1 reels were "high speed"

Anyway, for my jig fishing I like my Curado and Chronarch 50's.   I like the size, they can handle any jig line from 10 to 20 lb fluorocarbon.   They just suit my style right now.  Given unlimited funds, I'd probably be fishing the higher end Shimano reels or maybe/probably the Diana Pixies, but these mid-range priced reels suit me ok for now.   I believe the gear ration is 6 something to one.
