Sword of the Lord Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 My wife hadn't had a bite all day, so she did something completely unorthodox: She fished a jig n pig on a float and landed this: 4 Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted August 4, 2017 Super User Posted August 4, 2017 It's actually not that unorthodox. People have been throwing baits of various styles and types under floats for years. either way though, nice fish. 1 Quote

Easily her biggest ever. All I heard was, "S***, I got a shark, help!" 1 Quote

Sword of the Lord Posted August 4, 2017 Author Posted August 4, 2017 My boy got a nice one on a black power worm. We saw it swim up to the shore causally, just staring us down it looked like. I threw a Senko in front of it. It came and watched it. Backed off. Twitched it, it came up again, then swam off. I told him to throw that worm out there in the direction it took off in and it was an instant strike. 5 Quote
XpressJeff Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 I caught my first 3 pound catfish on a Senko today. Go figure! 1 Quote

I had a 45 pound flathead eat my trick worm on a shaky head the other day, not exactly known as a prime catfish bait! They also seem to love breaking my deep cranks off in brushpiles... Quote

Super User the reel ess Posted August 4, 2017 Super User Posted August 4, 2017 I agree that often times, showing fish something they never see or in a way they never see it can trigger strikes, especially in a small body of water. My buddy has a pond and only fished two or three lures. I'll go and catch 20 or more (mostly dinks) and he'll be amazed. Well, I throw 7-10 baits at them until I find a few they like. I'll bet a wacky Senko under a float would produce as well. Quote
