RLB27 Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 I have been using baitcasters for years and have spooled this particular reel several times with new line. After recently spooling with new line, I keep backlashing!! I even tried switching to a new brand of line! I am using 15 lb fluorocarbon line with both brands! What could be the problem and how can I fix it? Thank You All Very Much In Advance!! Quote
CroakHunter Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 Did you spool it backwards? Make sure the line goes on the reel the same way it comes off the spool. Keeps the memory the same. Also line conditioner could help. 1 Quote
Stingray23 Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 I like to run warm water over the freshly spooled line. It will definitely help. 1 Quote

OnthePotomac Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 Hose it down with KVD line and lure conditioner. When I spool my reels I do it by reeling the new line onto the reel through a cotton ball soaked with KVD line conditioner. It helps a lot, especially with flouro. You might also look at a bit more tension of the cast control cap since each reel has its own sensitivity level with each line choice.. 1 Quote
