i'm looking for a tube that will fit a 2/0-3/0 EWG and be thrown on 8lb test that will be fished on an 1/8oz texas rig. most tubes i have found are quite thick which require a beefier bulkier hook. what are you guys using?

I used to get mine from Canyon Plastics.  The 3 3/4" is my favorite unsalted finesse tube.  I do NOT want a salted tube for my finesse applications.

I have not ordered from them since the new owners bought it but when I need more I will give them a try.  Have been an excellent product in the past and I'd guess still is.

So, what size hook are you guys using on these 2 3/4" tubes?

Oops, I forgot that the op wanted to put them on 2/0-3/0 hooks.  I wouldn't consider a tube that is big enough to put a 3/0 hook in it a finesse tube anymore, but I like the little stuff.

BTW, I use #1 hooks on bitsy tubes and tubez's.

#1 is good info to know for the stubby's.  That's a d**n small EWG hook.  I think I even have some #2's but they are hard to find. Got mine at Barlow's I think?

I only fish tubes late winter-spawn and never tried them Texas rigged. I'm old school and use a 1/16 oz #1 tube jighead with those bitsy tubes.  I want to use a shroomz head next season. I throw them on #6 lb FC Sniper. Pumpkin with Green Flakes is great in desert ponds/lakes with sandy bottoms.

A 2/0 or 3/0 is going to fit most of your standard sized tubes. I use a 3/0 for the Strike King Coffee Tubes.

I use a 2/0 on an insider jig head for 3.5" tubes and it comes out right at the cut for the skirt. For T-rigging I use a 2/0 Laser Sharp Tube hook but that is on a pretty beefy tube. A finesse tube to me is a River Rock Custom standard tube in a 2.5" to 2.75" single dip that I use with an insider jig head with a 1/0 light wire hook, I never T-rig small tubes.

I was recently looking for a really small tube jig for the 2.5 inch tubes and stumbled upon the Northland Tube Jig.  I needed a really short shank and all the VMC ones had long shanks for 3.5 or 4 inch tubes.

I stumbled upon Ozark Tackle while down in Branson, Mo.  The make awesome 4.5in and 5.5in. tubes. I picked up two packs of their 2.75in tubes that were on clearance and have been fishing them on a 2/0 Trokar tube hook when I T-rig them. Most any thin walled tube can be fished on a 2/0 hook. Tender Tubes and Havoc Smash tubes come to mind, but they're 4in.

ZMan tubes are the best finesse tubes I have found.  Nice soft hand dipped small finesse tubes are great but tear up easy.  Don’t get me wrong I use many different tubes with Cabin Creek being my favorite.  But on a good tube bite the ZMan can be fished all day.

BPS 3.5 tender tubes, Dry Creek 3.5 tourney tubes and tubes I make are my favorites and really all i use.

I know this is off topic, but take one of these smaller tubes and insert a piece of an ear plug. Rig it on a light c rig and it flat out catches fish. My favorite way is a punch stop, then my 1/8 oz weight, and then another punch stop. That way I can adjust the "leader" length with ease.

My favorite tube for that application is the Tender Tube. A close second is the 3.5" Power Tube.

I’ve been looking at the Z-Man Tubes wondering how they are. Do you rig them with the Shroomz Jigheads?

I love fishing texas rigged tubes just how you describe. Several years ago I purchased a bunch of 3” O-bait tubes and am down to my last pack. I don’t think they make them anymore, but if you find them I had pretty good luck with them.

I do with the trd tube, but I’m talking about the bigger finesse tube.  I Texas rig with a bell sinker and a bps round rattle.

Big Bite Baits tubes.

I use them and the walls of the tube are not as thick as the Zoom or Berkley tubes I have.

I fish tubes probably 85% of the time chasing smallmouth on my local river. Mizmo Teaser Tubes (2.75") are by far my favorite.
