GoneFishingLTN Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 boat looked nice (brand new) when I bought it took it out let it sit for a couple months. Now I'm cleaning it with soap and water and most stuff comes off but when it drys it has a foggy look. Is there something I can buy to help this? When I whip the foggy area with a dry rag it helps get most stuff off but not all. Quote
Super User Catt Posted August 3, 2017 Super User Posted August 3, 2017 I clean mine with "Awesome", $1.00 a bottle at Family Dollar stores. Quote
Super User WIGuide Posted August 3, 2017 Super User Posted August 3, 2017 Something like a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser might do it, otherwise, you could always use aluminum polish. The drawback to polish is you'll most likely have to do the entire exposed aluminum surface to make it look uniform. Quote
RUSS9999 Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 If it's aluminum, no paint. Aluminum polish, but it's a never ending job. Aluminum oxidizes fast. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted August 3, 2017 Super User Posted August 3, 2017 As mentioned above, polishing bare aluminum is a bit of a beast & an eternal requirement if you're set on maintaining that appearance. As for "whipping the foggy area with a dry rag", I'll admit that I'm not familiar with that technique. Perhaps a new red hat would help . . (sorry) A-Jay 1 Quote
Crappiebasser Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 I use White Lightning chrome and aluminum cleaner on my pontoon boat. You just spray it on and hose it off. Quote
