Cleaning an aluminum bass tracker

boat looked nice (brand new) when I bought it took it out let it sit for a  couple months. Now I'm cleaning it with soap and water and most stuff comes off but when it drys it has a foggy look.  Is there something I can buy to help this?  When I whip the foggy area with a dry rag it helps get most stuff off but not all.

I clean mine with "Awesome", $1.00 a bottle at Family Dollar stores.

Something like a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser might do it, otherwise, you could always use aluminum polish. The drawback to polish is you'll most likely have to do the entire exposed aluminum surface to make it look uniform.

If it's aluminum, no paint. Aluminum polish, but it's a never ending job. Aluminum oxidizes fast.

As mentioned above, polishing bare aluminum is a bit of a beast & an eternal requirement if you're set on maintaining that appearance.

As for "whipping the foggy area with a dry rag", I'll admit that I'm not familiar with that technique.

Perhaps a new red hat would help . .

I use White Lightning chrome and aluminum cleaner on my pontoon boat. You just spray it on and hose it off.
