Super User NorthernBasser Posted August 1, 2017 Super User Posted August 1, 2017 Hi guys/gals. I just ordered some jogs from Siebert Outdoors (first time, thanks to this forum,,,can't wait). Anyways, I didn't order them with rattles because I heard such good things about their wire tie collars. If I did wanna add rattles to them, what would you recommend? What brand/style, and how do I go about adding them? I've seen numerous different styles of collars/rattles online. Thanks! Quote
Super User WRB Posted August 1, 2017 Super User Posted August 1, 2017 If your jigs are wire tied adding a rattle isn't going to be easy. Your options are using a small zip tie and venom glass worm rattles. You can zip tie the rattle to the wire tie area or insert the glass rattle inside a soft plastic trailer. Tom 1 Quote

Also, are those hanging rattles better than fixed ones like these? Do they hang up in the grass more? I've only ever used these fixed rattles. Quote
Super User WRB Posted August 1, 2017 Super User Posted August 1, 2017 The above collars are intended to hold silicone skirts onto the jig. You may need a collar tool to open up the collar so slide over the skirt and wire tie. The rattle collar should be next to the jig head, not behind the skirt tie. Barlows also sells rattle collars if that is what you want to do. Tom 1 Quote
sully420 Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 I like the long ones the skirt gets hung in the fixed rattles. I slide mine under the skirt and they hold for me. 1 Quote
