Ghostshad Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 Which trailer do you prefer on a SwimJig , PattleTail or SplitTail or both ? Quote
Brett's_daddy Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 I have both but I haven't fished my swim jigs much this year. I have the Rage Menace twin tail grub the Reaction Innovations Skinny Dipper both in a variety of colors. Quote
Super User Munkin Posted August 1, 2017 Super User Posted August 1, 2017 Paddletail when fishing in and over grass. Singletail grub when fishing open water. Allen Quote
Damn Yankee Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 Craw or paddle, give them what they want. 1 Quote
papajoe222 Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 I only use one trailer on my swim jigs and it isn't either of those you mention. I'm a graduate of the 'Show 'Em Something Different' school. All my swim jigs are minnow imitations and a Kalin's Lunker Grub adds almost transparent action that gives the illusion of a small compact bait, but one that moves a lot of water calling attention to it. 2 Quote
jr231 Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 I second the kalins lunker grub !! Also the rage tail menace is another you should try. These are my two favorites. 1 Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted August 2, 2017 Super User Posted August 2, 2017 I use three trailers on swim jigs. SK Rage grub in cold water. 3" Chigger Craw in the spring once water temps get above 55 or so. and a 3.8" Kietech Fat Impact In the summer and fall. 1 Quote
bigturtle Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 I use yum christie craws and all sorts of paddletail swimbaits on my jigs. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted August 2, 2017 Global Moderator Posted August 2, 2017 4.8 swing impact fat has been good for me. Quote
Chance_Taker4 Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 Keitech Swing impact 3.8 or Big Bite Chunk Quote
Scarborough817 Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 i am a big big believer in paddle tails i will throw the rage menace as well but mainly paddles tails and for specific conditions. i am probably overthinking everything but it has seemed to work for me so far. i throw the following for swimjigs as well as bladed jigs Keitech 3.8" swing impact fat (colder water or slower presintation) GY swim senkos (main summer bait) GY heart tail (big profile) Gambler ez (for in weeds) i throw lake fork shads as well but not as much i tend to stick more so to the paddle tails. i have been dying to try the zako though just need to find some locally or wait and make a tw order Quote
d-camarena Posted August 2, 2017 Posted August 2, 2017 i bite the tail off the christie craws and put them on my jigs, makes them a little more compact, i also like yum crawbugs Quote
