I have a saltwater minn Kota 80lb rip tide co-pilot trolling motor. The past week I've experienced being on the water and turn it on and works fine for 2-3 minutes. I'll stop to fish... hit the remote to move and it does nothing. Won't turn or go however the power light is on and still getting power to the motor.

I checked every cable/ connection and found very little corrosion. Scrubbed the connectors with wire brush. I stripped the wire at the main plug and re-connected it. Turned it on in the yard several times... about 5 minutes later I hit the forward switch and again nothing. I get 26 volts at the main plug in switch on the bow.

Had the local tackle shop take a look at the motor and he seemed to think it had to be a bad connection on the boat versus trolling motor.

I fish the salt a lot and having a hard time getting the propeller off due to corrosion. There is a possiblity that there may be weeds, braid, mono, etc behind the propeller. Could this cause the motor to run hot and turn off like that?

Not sure where to go from here... any advise is greatly appreciated.
