Good day everyone.

Name's Ken, and I'm from St. Marys Ohio. I used to fish when I was younger, grandpa used to make his own jigs and poles before he died. After that, me and some friends would usually go fishing as many days as we could during the summer, but as we grew up we started getting lazy and playing video games. Fast forward to last year, found out my wife liked fishing with her dad, so we Bought 2 Shakespear reverb spinning combos for $10/ea. And, being a techy guy I started to see the sonar bobbers so I had to get one as well. NOw, I just try to fish if I can, but being 30, working 50+hours a week, plus starting a family, and going back to college part time, I'm only able to fish maybe 3 months out of the year, but most likely only about a month.

My primary fishing holes are my uncle's pond, just a small country pond that's maybe 40x20x12 feet with half of it being 5 feet deep or less, but he currently has it stocked with Largies, smallies, striped, catfish, grass carp, and some non-biting panfish. Otherwise, I'll try to fish The Miami Erie canal, Grand lake st. marys, Lake Loramie. With my wife being from Michigan, we go up sometimes to Austin lake and crystal lake ( just haven't fished at either of them yet).

I usually and always have fished panfish mostly crappie and blue gill, but I would like to get into bass fishing more, and just panfish on those really bad days where it seems nothing is biting. But, I'd also like to try and catch some walleye, saugeye, and some bigger fish around the area. Just because.

Currently, I'm fighting with myself over getting better gear than my reverb combos, especially the spincaster it's horrible, and I'm thinking of getting baitcasting setup, but also debating if I should upgrade my spinner combo to something more substantial, and possibly get an ultralight spinner setup just for playing with panfish, and let the wife keep using her reverb combo.

So, I'm here to try and get some unbiased input of gear selection, some tips, and tricks as well as purchasing advice, and maybe make some new fishing buddies.

Also, BR team, The bass resource logo in the top left corner, covers up the all the buttons up in that corner, I had to use google to get to the sign-up web page. Every time I try to click on something to do with my forum account it just takes me back to the home page, I've tried this on Mozilla Firefox and chrome.

I am down in your neck of the woods quite often as we fish Lake Loramie (Plus I go to Country Concert every year), Grand Lake and Indian Lake. I don't get up there often but I also fish Austin lake and Long Lake in MI.
