Tyler J. Christian Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 So I like to do a lot of different kinds of fishing that is not limited to bass fishing, like catfishing for example, and I was wondering what kind of fishing line e.g braid, mono, fluorocarbon, hybrid to buy and if it really matters, also I'm on a budget so if you guys could recommend any good products it would be much appreciated. Thanks! Quote
moguy1973 Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 Look at the P-Line CX Premium. It's a co-polymer line and is really strong for the rated strength. It's my go to line when I'm not using braid. The price is nice too at usually under $10 for 150yd spools. Quote
flatcreek Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 Agree P- line is good.Checkout Berkley Big Game for bait casting set up and Sunline mono,Suffix Elite for spinning outfits. Reasonable prices on all of them in my area, maybe different where you live.Good luck. Quote
CTBassin860 Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 If you want a good co-poly check out Yo-Zuri Hybrid. 3 Quote
Oklahoma Mike Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 Braid is the most versatile - just tie on the leader of your choice for whatever situation you encounter. As far as a good budget line, I'd go with 832. 3 Quote

Hulkster Posted July 30, 2017 Posted July 30, 2017 Im old school so I like mono for all my fishing. I use Suffix siege for both spinning and baitcasting and love the stuff. its awesome- very limp and very strong. right now im using 8 pound for spinning and 10 pound for baitcasting. but the 8 pound test casts so well and is so limp im think about upping it to the 10 pound for everything for even more strength and it should still cast like a bullet. I will have to see. 1 Quote
mcfishing620 Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Baitcast =15 Spinning = 8 Seaguar Red Label. Don't need any of that fancy stuff, I've tried it. Red Label is limp, sensitive, invisible, and affordable. If you wanna splurge, nothing beats Tatsu, period. Quote
Attila Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Mono; it's the easiest to handle and is very forgiving and can still handle large fish under various conditions. 1 Quote
Djohn Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Agree with p-line co-poly or 20 lb braid with a floro leader. Quote
Hurricane Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Suffix Elite, Trilene Big Game, P-line Fluroclear is all i use... Done with braid... Quote

Yo-Zuri hybrid isn't a copolymer line it's a co extruded hybrid line. Berkley Big Game is low cost with high performance and meets you needs; 900 yard spool of 15 lb is $9. Tom 1 Quote
