TheMississippiOutdoorsman Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 I'm looking for a very strong swivel for my Carolina rigs or should I not even bother to use a swivel Quote
Super User Raul Posted July 28, 2017 Super User Posted July 28, 2017 Swivels for saltwater fishing are super strong. Quote
bigturtle Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 I dont use swivels on my c-rigs. I use braid to a mono leader. I slide my sinker on, then 2-3 bobber stops, then i tie my bait on. This setup allows me to change my leader length, and retie the section between the weight and the bait as needed when it gets worn. Quote

Comfortably Numb Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 50# plus braid with a bead and a Spro swivel as said. 10-12# flouro leader. 2/0 hook and Elaztech Zman nose hooked. Carolina keepers dont hold my 1 oz plus weights very well and wont allow two different line weights types. 1 Quote
Super User J Francho Posted July 28, 2017 Super User Posted July 28, 2017 Spro Swivels are about the toughest I've found. Quote

Yeah but C keepers are not cheap compared to a 5 cent swivel and as I said I dont want 8-12# flouro all the way. I want heavy braid to free that heavy weight if snagged. I wont ming loosing the leader/hook/bait. Quote
