NinjaAbassin Posted July 27, 2017 Posted July 27, 2017 A penny for your thoughts on the pescador pilot 12 pedal kayak? I want a new kayak I just sold my lure 13.5. I loved it but I want a pedal drive kayak now. Only thing I'm not liking about the pescador is the pin lock for the pedal system. Anyone that has one or tested one any thoughts? Quote
YoTone Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 Didnt try it but i was looking at it very closely when i was shopping for a pedal drive. hard to beat the cost and ive seen some positive reviews. that said i bought a used slayer 10 because it was around the same price and was lighter for me to car top. 1 Quote

Thanks man! I actually pulled the trigger and ordered one. Next price point for pedal yak was 2399 (btw I hate the look and design of the manga ray although it's 1999$). I just ain't got that budget. So now I got PP12, a paddle and lowrance hook 4x all for under 2000$. It's kinda hard to beat that price point! although not many bells and whistles it seems perfect for someone like me that likes to customize most of the stuff to my needs and wants. Will post pics once it arrives! 1 Quote

The pilot 12 would be cheaper but I also want to research the Native propel 10. Quote

It does one issue that I don't like and that's the rudder. Dropping and lifting it is a real pain and super stiff. It's a problem a lot of people have with no real fix. The pedal drive is super smooth although it does make a little noise but, for the price nothing that is a real problem. Its a super light kayak i would say maybe 70-75lbs compared to my previous feelfree lure 13.5 that was around 105-110lbs. If you're on a budget it's for sure a great choice. It wont let me upload pics because it says under 700kb guess my iPhone pics are over that. Quote

I'm not in a hurry to get one so I'll wait until something turns up. Quote
