SJS Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 I just bought an Old Town Guide 119 canoe to use as my bass boat. I took it out today for the first time on a small river near my house and it handles exactly as I had hoped for this kind of fishing. Only problem is it has a plastic molded seat with an adjustable back rest and the thing is not comfortable for me. I plan on replacing it with a traditional cane or web lattice bench type seat. Looking on line there are many choices and the price range is broad but I don't see big differences in the various brands. I would appreciate any advice from anyone who has replaced their canoe seat. redmexican5081 Posted July 27, 2017 Posted July 27, 2017 I fish primarily out of an Old Town Guide 147, I believe it has the same uncomfortable plastic seats but no back rest. My wife got me the Sit Backer seat from LL Bean as a Christmas gift this year. It just straps onto the existing seat and is a fairly cheap option ~$40. It makes the seat easier to sit in for extended periods. Don't know if that would help but it is a lot easier than changing our the seat completely 2 Quote
