Any active members fishing in Western PA? I mainly fish the Kiski River, Allegheny River, Crooked Creek, and Tionesta area. Northmoreland Park lake is close but I've never had any luck there. Finding it difficult to find spots on the shore since selling my boat a few years back (not a bass boat, a 24' pontoon that I used for fishing). Been having some decent luck on the Kiski. Caught a few the other evening, (two around 10" and one around 15") and missed a few. We were only down there an hour or so.

Hey there!! I do most of my fishing south of you, not so much up north. The bass are coming back in the lower Tionesta but nothing like when I was a kid. Tionesta lake is good, so is the Clarion. Topwater baits are hitting hard right now all over, white-chartreuse/white spinners and buzzbaits all day long. Never fished Northmoreland lake but I did a wedding there 2 weeks ago and wished I brought a pole...

I grew up camping in Tionesta and spent a lot of time on that lake in a boat. Also had pretty good luck fishing the mouth of the outflow creek.

I'll check those lures out. Thanks for the tip!

I fish West PA. Mainly the Beaver and Ohio Rivers. Shenango River and the Lake, Mahoning River, Connequenessing Creek, Neshannock Creek, Big Sewickley Creek, Slippery Rock Creek, Brady's Run Lake, Wilhelm, Pymatuming, Tamarack, and  Cross Creek Lake are some other places I've been this year. Im mainly a river rat fishing from the bank next to dams. I have a small jonboat but I need the motor fixed so it's been mainly bank fishing this year for me. I go to some lakes with friends, this will probably  be first time in 30+ years I dont fish Erie.

Dont think I've fished the Kiski, but have fished the Allegheny, Clarion, Yough and Mon in the past. We are lucky, there are great places to fish from the shore here, a lot of the best spots next to dams aren't accessible with a boat. Actually even when my boat was running I would use it to get out on rocks and islands a lot. Great smallmouth fishing in the creeks too.
