Kimberly Broadwater Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 Went out on the boat today. Trolling motor has been working fine. Today, the constant works, but the intermittent does not. Anyone have any ideas what has happened? I am a newbie. Quote
38 Super Fan Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 Welcome to the forum! This happened to me once. In my case, a screw had worked loose on the bottom of the trolling motor pedal that held the intermittent button tight. Not saying that's the problem, but it's a good place to start. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted July 21, 2017 Super User Posted July 21, 2017 Hello Kimberly and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ Sounds like you may have a loose connection somewhere. A-Jay Quote
Kimberly Broadwater Posted July 21, 2017 Author Posted July 21, 2017 I will check those out later today when it gets a little cooler (108 heat index right now. WHEW!) Thanks. Quote
Super User Scott F Posted July 21, 2017 Super User Posted July 21, 2017 It could be a bad switch. Can you hear it click when you push on it? Quote
Kimberly Broadwater Posted July 21, 2017 Author Posted July 21, 2017 I just went out (104 heat index, ha) and the toe switch (or whatever it is really called) is getting full volts but will not activate. Since it costs $3, I ordered one. Maybe that will fix it. You guys are awesome with the quick replies. I bought a 1995 Monark 160, 40 hp, two months ago. Have replaced almost all wiring, electronics, even the fuse board. I have learned a lot thanks to a friend. Thankfully, the hull, deck, and motor are great (knock wood.) I am certain I will have tons of questions in the future. Again, thanks. I will let you know if this helps. Quote
