fish-fighting-illini Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 Went to a fishing show over the weekend and liked the setup of this boat. Thye didn't have the bass version of this boat only the crappie version but from pictures I almost liked the storage on this boat setup better. I absolutely loved the amount of fishing room on the decks. Does anyone know anything about these boats pro or con? Bass or Crappie version is fine. Quote
SteveFinMD Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 I can only say that Lowe builds a quality boat. I saw the ads for the Stinger myself and if I was looking for a new tin boat I would look very closely at that one. Good luck, and let us know if you are able to see one in person. Quote
fish-fighting-illini Posted February 22, 2007 Author Posted February 22, 2007 Sorry I was prob confusing. I did see the Crappie version in person they just didn't have the bass version. I loved the crappie boat. Both decks were huge and the front one was monsterous. Quote
Flatfish Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 I think the deck's on both are the same size, the difference is the location of the rod locker, the bass version is in the middle of the front deck, and the crappie version is down the side. Very large door and large storage area(more rods) on the bass version, Just check the rod length for each box. Don't believe they have the bait buckets in the live wells on the bass version, their are suttle differences between the two that you wouldn't realize unless they were sitting side by side. Quote

I have called twice with questions and they are very knowledgeable and helpful. I just got a hold-over '05 160W. The storage and rod storage leave a lot to be desired compared to the '06 and '07 models but the hull chine angles and the step-down transom really make it shine over the newer ones as far as ride and handling go. Plus I got the last year they put the Evinrude E-Tec on it. If I were you I would not hesitate to purchase a Lowe product. Tight lines. Quote
BASSMAN1301599783 Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 I just bought a Stinger 195, witch is the same exact boat as the 175 only a foot and a half longer. I like the setup of the 195 better than the 190 because of the longer rod locker and the extra livewell upfront. I fell in love with them after I saw how wide the front deck was. It is a great boat and the quality is great too. I would highly recommend a Lowe to anybody. It is by far the best tin boat in that price range. Quote
