Hey everyone, I'm Tyler from Grand Rapids. I grew up fishing with my grandpa, but had gotten away from it until recently. I studied Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Michigan (Go Blue, c/o 2014) with an emphasis on fisheries. Even during this time I didn't really get out and fish much and never owned my own equipment. This past year my fiancee got me a cheap telescopic spinning combo and I caught the bug. I quickly added a baitcasting combo and have been getting out to the water whenever I can. So far I've mostly been fishing the river from the bank/wading, but I just bought a kayak so I'm looking forward to getting out on the lake and getting after it! This site has been incredibly helpful while I learn the ropes.
