I just wanted to give a quick shout out to Dobyn's rods for their amazing customer service and business model.  I may buy other rods from time to time in the future but I'm sold on Dobyn's overall.

I'm in the process of upgrading my rods/reels and was reading about their upgrade program.  I reached out to them via email and received a quick and detailed response from Richard.

Right now I have primarily Fury series rods so I'm going to be upgrading to some XP's and Extremes.  I can get up to $90 for my Furys (they are in execellent shape so I'm sure I will get top dollar).  That is amazing to me.  You'd be hard pressed to get that on the secondary market.

Knowing that when I purchase a rod (and I change my mind frequently) I can get significant value back for it from the manufacturer it will be hard for me to purchase from anyone else.  On top of that the quality is top notch.  Maybe there are other companies that offer that, but I don't think there are many.  I'm a Dobyn's rod guy now.

I have no affiliation with them but I'm a huge fan.  I hope this helps someone in the market for a nice new rod.

That's a cool program. However you did indicate up to $90 per rod. Let us know after you've returned them how good they were about valuing the rods. Personally I've have one customer service experience with them and it wasn't to my satisfaction but that's not what this post is about. Congratulations on your upgrades.

I think about trying Dobyns all the time, but info on what goes into the blanks isn't available, and no one in my area carries them. I'd love to see what they feel like in hand.

Gret looking rods though. If they fished as good as they look I'd be sold.

I have to agree with the OP here, they make some fantastic rods, and the customer service is exceptional as far as my dealings have been with them.

I have a Savvy 734 and a Champion 765Flip and they are amazing.

In fact the Savvy is my go to all round rod that does just about everything I need it to do except the super extremely light and super heavy stuff that I would do with the Flip.

Highly recommend Dobyns.

They also sell shipping labels, which I wish I knew before sending mines in for upgrade.  $20 is a heck of a deal for shipping when you live cross country. Lol

Nice, thanks for the heads up on that.

My Sierra is a very nice rod the only issue I have with it is that it needs a 9ish oz spinning reel to balance it out.
