Does anyone use clear blue florescent line all the time? I keep only certain rods with it for night fishing. Tonight I had a reel break, and I was with someone else. My other rod didn't have florescent line on it, so I had to strip that reel and then swap the florescent line onto this reel. If I had it on all of my reels I wouldnt have had any problems, or wasted time. Just wondering if anyone else uses it for everything, and if so how does it work?

I use  Trilene xl bue fluorescent 17 lb test   on my worm/jig rod 100 percent of the time . If I could get it in bulk I would have it on all my reels .

I have Original Stren in CBF on all of my reels except one. I use 8-10lb on spinning, 14lb on casting. It's great for line watching day or night(black light). Dr Keith Jones made a comment in his book, based on his studies that Clear Blue Fluorescent might be the least visible to Bass. I don't remember the exact quote but that was the gist of it.

I'm playing around with some Stren Magnathin on one reel,  and it has a little better sensitivity but I really miss that blue.

I use fluorescent on all my mono applications if I can.  Especially my Senko rods where I watch the line more than feel the bite.  My old favorite line that is no longer produces was Berkley Trilene Tournament Strength in Photochromic.  Best line watcher mono ever produced.  I have yet to find any that was as visible above the water and invisible below the water.

I read or heard somewhere years ago that Trilene Transoptic was Photochromic just remarketed. Not sure if that's true...I've never used it but I know that Transoptic is still available if blue is not your thing.

I looked up the transoptic from what I read it doesn't work under a black light. If it does please let me know.

I still have a small amount of 17# trilene photochromic, it was also produced in big game at one time as well. I still have some 15#

Old eyes are the debil Bobby Boucher. Clear blue fluorescent Stren and Trilene are the exorcist my friend.

I use both 90% of the time when fishing mono. It really helps when you need to watch the line fishing wacky rigged stick baits

Question y’all: Given the choice for smallies, whats the best between the following on a 2000-2500 size spin reel;

12Lb mean green original low vis green

10 lb red seaguar flouro

8lb MG blue flourecent

6lb yo zuri hybrid (strong line but I haven’t found a good knot for it. It cuts itself easily)

thanks!

Cool. What terminal knot do you suggest with 10lb flouro? I’ve been using an eye crosser for heavier line but for some reason it tends to break in lighter flouro. The palamar is the same for me. I’m thinking a trilene....

I had a lot of trouble with flouro knots until I tried this knot. I think its the Double San Diego Jam, correct me if I am wrong.

I use a lot of it in the lighter lines 8, 6, 4# XL clear blue. Good stuff. Back some years ago BPS had great Excel Mono. Was made by Trilene. Not as good anymore. Certainly not Trilene.
