tkunk Posted July 11, 2017 Posted July 11, 2017 When I fish 7-10" musky glide baits like Phantoms and Hellhounds, I get some big smallies following my lures. They often hit the baits, but they rarely get hooked. I think I'll have some success with something smaller. Does anyone know of a 2-3" hard glide bait for bass? Hopefully not super expensive, because I know I'll lose some lures to pike and muskies. I'm aware of soft flukes and jerkbaits, but I want a true glider. Quote
Scarborough817 Posted July 11, 2017 Posted July 11, 2017 musky and bass glides are different if you want a glide for bass i would start with the river 2 sea s waver it comes in multiple sizes like the 120 (4 3/4"), the 168 (6 3/4") and the 200 (8") 3 Quote

Super User MassYak85 Posted July 12, 2017 Super User Posted July 12, 2017 I'd go with the S-Waver 168. Big enough to still draw some curiosity but not so big a decent smallmouth is going to struggle to get it in it's mouth. Quote
ErikmonBillsfon Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 I really like the savage gear in the small and medium sized glide baits. Ive also really like the shine glide in the 5.25" in bluegill color. Honestly 5-7 inch glide baits are not to big, i fish in CT and MA and there will be days when perch and bluegill follow it. When I use the bigger 6.5" wide glide the bigger fish in the area come and take a look. At 12-16$ these baits are easy to use in the entry level glide bait sector. River 2 sea works great too, both are fun to fish. I fish in the land of the dinks and im telling you its not too big of a lure and you can get away without getting a swimbait specific rod. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted July 12, 2017 Global Moderator Posted July 12, 2017 The 5 1/4" Shine Glide is the best gliding smaller bait I've found. The 120 S Waver was terribly inconsistent for me, as was the Deps 115. Quote
