Lures to break my slump

I have been in a major slump lately I haven't been producing the numbers or size of bass I used to catch, I haven't made any big changes or anything like that. What lures and techniques can I use to break this slump.

I usually slow down when this happens. Jerk baits and stick baits(Yum dingers etc.)

My go to during the summer months is to find thick cover (preferably with deep water near by) and pitch a texas rigged worm or creature bait in there. Don't just pitch it at the edges, find pockets and go in after them. If the water is stained, I prefer black/blue or june bug but if the water is clear go more natural with pumpkin seed or watermelon.

For numbers, the ned rig is hard to beat. Not the most exciting way to fish, but it's a great slump buster. A shakey head and a drop shot are also good choices for numbers. A lot depends on the lake(s) you are fishing. But those three presentations will get fish in the boat and help get your confidence back.

What has changed???  Is it just a lot hotter out side and the bass are going deep and trying to stay cool.  Have you changed your standard presentation to adapt to this change.  Are you frogging and punching the heavy mats or going deep to find the cooler water.  The summer is the second hardest season for me next to winter.  They are in the same spots during these two seasons and my deep game still requires a lot of work.  I feel there is no secret lure but understanding and adapting to the current conditions.  Now if i were to recommend a lure for the summer go with a +10 inch worm and give them a big meal to work with...

When the fishing gets tough I would go to a drop shot rig. It allows the bait to suspend a foot or so off the bottom and it gets those finicky bass to bite. I also wouldn't use a weight over 1/4 ounce because the bait will fall too quickly when you bounce it off the bottom, you only want a small wiggle to the bait. If the drop shot doesn't work I would try new bodies of water because maybe the fish population isn't as good.

Go deeper with a Drop shot or Carolina rig.

Fish what you believe to be good fish holding structure with decent cover on it with a single Colorado blade spinnerbait, a jig & craw and a Texas rigged 10 inch ribbon tail worm.  Color doesn't matter much as long as it's something you have confidence in. 

Oh and I forgot to mention the most important part ~ Fish At Night.

You might just need to throw something new.  I recently fished a spot that is usually killer for spinnerbaits and shallow cranks.  Couldn't get hit on either the other day.  Also tried a chatter bait and some plastics...but still nothing.  Water was stained with about 1-1.5ft of visibility.  Threw a swimjig on and these bass just lost their minds.  They hit that thing so hard it's all I've been thinking about ever since.  I had never until that day thrown a swimjig.  So if the fish get tight lipped it may be time to just throw something completely new at them.

Hard to say without know the conditions you fish. Fishing from the bank I too hit a slump mid summer. Pitching jigs and stick worms tight to cover has been producing the best results for me. Also, frogs near cover can work well. In my experience this time of year requires fishing tighter into cover than any other.

Broke my most recent slump with a 4" KVD stickbait in coffee flavor with a 4/0 T-rig EWG hook.
