Puggz Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 I've recently put a '13 metanium HG on my pitchin' stick (DX 745) and looking for advise on the best way to increase my pitchin distance. Can someone please help me with the best way to setup the SVS to increase pitching distance? I have the spool tension backed off and the SVS dial at 1. I think I need to turn off the red brake petals but which is off and which is on?? also, I think some other petals came with the reel, smaller white ones if I recall. TIA Quote
j bab Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 If you're just pitching you shouldn't need any brakes. Just be careful if you cast every once in awhile with that combo because no brakes on a cast is tough to not backlash Quote

bigturtle Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 White brake pads provide less breaking force than red ones. On my metanium, i removed all red pads and put in 2 white ones. I only ever use 2, so i removed the other 4. 1 Quote
