Some dissolve, some don't. Only way to find out is to try unfortunately.

I dip my in JJ magic all the time. The thing is you cannot let it sit for too long otherwise it would melt. Another note the dye whatever color doesn't seem to stay on Elaztech for too long.

Just started another topic before I saw this in the search, noob move! Lol

I was wondering the same thing, the white minnowz dissolved in my Spike-It. Someone has a bunch of Z-Man's for sale in the Flea Market, that is like to pick up, but I can't dip em, then I'm probably not going to use em often.

I don't remember who, but someone who knows Ned rig fishing better than I recommended using colored jig heads instead of attempting to dye Elaztech.  Similiar concept, making one end of the lure a highly visible red or chartreuse.  I don't think the bass care which end is a diffetent color

Elaztech doesn't play nice with many dyes. Using colored jigheads became a way around that issue. Flo. red ("firetail") and chartreuse are the more common head colors used, though blue and orange have also seen some regular use by MF anglers. Gopher makes a wide variety of colors, and some simply use nail polish to get whatever color they like.

I have noticed that if you buy "Older Z-Man Packs" they do not seem to age well from being bent, material not being as fresh etc. as normal plastics.

I would make sure you simply buy them from a place like TW, local shop that moves them  and you are not buying baits from 3-4 year ago. Just do not leave them in the sun, or mix them with any thing that may contain a type of plastic, keep them cool and as for dye, I use a marker and it has held up the few times I used one. I probably would not put it back in the package after altering any part of the chemical structure.

The post above is a good suggestion. Use a chartruese Jig head. Chart jig heads go well with many other baits as well.

Interesting...  In a thread earlier this week, @Preytorien specifically said he has had ElaZtech baits melt after dipping them in J.J.'s.

Different baits have different salt contents and different consistencies, I'd guess that would be why some might dissolve and some might not. Color might have something to do with it as well.
