I'd like to find a really good cleaner for my painted aluminum boat and the engine.  Being black they show the light colored water spots, and I'm having trouble getting them off.  Any really effective products in your tool kits?  thanks

I have that problem on my Yamaha outboard from time to time. I wipe mine with a cloth wet with liquid Lime Away, then rinse and dry. Not sure about using it on bare aluminum. Those spots wipe off easily on my outboard.

I've been using Klasse All-in-One on everything for a long time - including new (black)  truck & boat.

Simply put - it does everything I want / need it to - Everything.  And nothing I don't.

"This unique formula dries just as quickly as it’s applied, so application is quick and easy with no risk of streaks or hazing.  Klasse All In One Polish cleans as you apply it, removing light oxidation, minor swirl marks, old waxes, and other minor surface defects.  Since it is non-abrasive and does not contain any silicones, it will not stain plastic, vinyl, or rubber trim pieces.  Klasse All In One Polish is so versatile, it can be used on virtually any nonporous surface including fiberglass, gel coat, metal, glass, plastic, marble, vinyl, painted surfaces,  and more—it’s even approved for marine and aviation use."

I use CLR on the motor and on my fiberglass boat when needed.  I don't know how it would do on aluminum boat.

I use Lucas Slick Mist on my current boat after every use to wipe down and don't have any water spot issues on boat or motor. My last boat I wasn't as diligent about wipe downs and it was a PITA trying to scrub them off.

I JUST starting using this product.

So far I'm Very Impressed.

I've been using this post trip - right at the ramp.

Works nicely as an In-Between detail carry over / bridge.

We use vinegar on our faucets and coffee pots and it works well.  I tried using CLR on an isolated part of the engine today, and it appears to work very well even when diluted about 8 to 1 with water.  However, I'm concerned it may have some long term detrimental effect since protective gloves and water rinse are recommended.  It may be that using something like it or vinegar to get the boat initially clean, then on a regular basis use Slick Mist is the way to go.

Took the fully cleaned up and waxed boat out yesterday, today I used the Lucas mist on it, took only about 15 minutes and it looks like new.  So the initial cleanup with dilute CLR, then Slick Mist wax resulted in like new appearance.  Then the next time out, only the Slick Mist returned it to like new.  Good process, thanks for the tips.
