Lol, how many ball bearings? (Just kidding)

On a serious note has anyone tried these out yet? If they are worth the original price that's a heck of a deal! A 9 speed reel at that price point I am sure will have many people's attention.

I'm pretty green so I'm just going to ask - what are the benefits of such a fast reel??

I bought a KK speed demon in apirl caught 5 fish on it and the reel seat broke on fish #6 a 3 lb bass. I called KK about the warranty and they said they would send me a shipping slip it never came. Also there spools are so small that there gear ratios are very deceiving. I would spend a little more for a abu or lews ar anything quality.

Eazy to fish buzz baits on them and helps keep fish from swimming into hevy cover when frogging or flipping. Also increases your efficiency when punching or flipping for reaction strikes

I wouldn't put much stock in the posted original price.  It's a bit misleading for them to suggest it's a $175 reel when MSRP is $129, and their blog/press release from last winter even said:

"Another outstanding feature of the KastKing Speed Demon baitcasting reel is its retail selling price, which is scheduled to be in the high $60 range,..."

Was this a slip?  I'm guessing they're pretty comfortable selling these at $69, and even better for them if the customer thinks they're getting 60% off

That said, you'd be hard pressed to match many of those features in a reel for $69 + 15% off...

What's the IPT on this bad boy?

Been fishing one for several months now and been happy with it. It's fast, cast well, has a long handle with comfortable grips, and the price was right. They're not a light weight reel, but they're not super heavy either. Yep, working just fine :)

I've got 4 - two Demons & two Assassins. Both have been flawless. They need to be cleaned & oiled/greased properly before using. Lot of gunk grease from the factory.

I excitedly tried mine today. Unfortunately, mine consistently backlashes unless the spool tension is tightened way beyond what I need for my other reels. Plus after 1 or 2 casts (non-vigorous roll casting), my spool tension would noticeably loosen. Also, the level wind stacks line on the right of the spool. Clearly others have had good luck with their speed demons. Mine is going back though.

I have a kast king royale, and have the same issues with the spool tension knob. It goes from ultra tight to super loose very quickly.... Its pretty annoying . Learned my lesson though. I leave it at home.

Clearly, addressing warranty issues with their customer service department is going to get better results than complaining on a fishing forum.  Only they can make it right for you, not the internet.

Meanwhile, I am more than surprised at how much I like my Assassin.  Even put it on a very high end rod.
