As the title states - looking for a good glass / composite rod for throwing mainly chatter baits (and a few cranks) that won't break the bank ... Your experiences and suggestions ? Thanks in advance !

Ethos Composite Cranker from Academy, 7' MH/M. I don't use it for bladed jigs, but my BIL does and likes it. I use mine for cranks and it's been really good for a cheap rod. They're $60 full price but I bought mine for $32 on clearance.

*Doesn't appear Academy makes this rod any longer ?

Personally I would suggest you look at an Irod Genesis II IRG703CC  It is called the Gabe's Rip Rap Special.

It runs around $149 but if you order it from Tackle Warehouse today or tomorrow it is 15% off.

I haven't looked in store but they don't list all the rods they make on their website.

Fenwick Lunker Stick, $80 - $90, and from what 2 guys in my former club tell me, they are the best deal in a glass rod. They don't make a heavy power but they do have a 7/8" MH that works well as it has a moderate fast action so it is a little more stout up front than a typical glass rod, probably more like how a heavy power would act.

Now this is a cool rod series - and the price is right ! ... The 7'3"MH moderate action  looks about right for chatterbaits .

St Croix Mojo Glass. Spend the extra $20. Great rod for the price.

Although graphite - I like the new SC-III rod blanks ... Will look at the glass version as well .

I'm going to be ordering a Legend Glass this afternoon actually. 7'4" MH. Should be really versatile. I think they make the Mojo glass in the same size.
