OK ,  i'm change my crankbait for a jig to keep WRB happy .

I might not be able to use the crank anyhow  because vegetation has been making a comeback .

I fish from a kayak, and all trebles get stowed before I have to turn my head lamp or flag-light on....I have pushed the popper and spook a little far into the dusk, but each cast gets a bit more nerve wracking

Night time is a great time for large swimbaits and I'm ok with trebles because I scoop them up with a net . Some of my faorite's would be a MS Slammer, the Crankdown Slammer,  Matt's Hardgill and a Pat's Perch .

Another bait that I like is  the Strike King Magnum 8.0 squarebill , works good throwing it over deep water at suspended fish .

Weather permitting I will be fishing the  full moon next weekend .    If you look at the calendar it will be listed on July 9th .  Thats in the AM. If you want to fish it , go on the evening of the 8th . I have my best luck when the moon is high and bright all night  and that will be this Saturday evening and Sunday morning . If the bass are cooperating, big ones will be cruising the shallow flats . If its going to be cloudy or stormy then I will try the  night before or after . My big four lures for a brightly lit night are soft plastics , buzzbaits , crankbait , and spinnerbait .  These four precisely will be tied on .

Its not unusual for the bass to stop biting around 9:30 -10:00 then pick up an hour or two later .

That's got to be the ugliest buzz bait I've ever seen.

I'm going tomorrow night then maybe Saturday too . I only night fish one to three times a year . Even though  the vast majority of my fishing is done during the day , for three years running my biggest bass have come at night .

Don't forget to wear the PFD at all times Scale! I'm going to assume you know your water backwards and forwards. :)

Now that the crowds are off the water(4rth of July crowds) I will get back at it. I fish at night exclusively during the Summer months until the end of September. The two times I fish during the day during this time are two charity tournaments.

Are you fishing clear or stained water ? I tried other moon phases and have not done as well . I'm fishing heavily stained water .

The day before the full moon the moon will be out earlier .The day after it will be out later . I prefer the day before .

i caught a 6lbser on in stained water pond on a full moon night, used a big black 9inch slammer. its a waking swimbait, twitched on top. lost a big fish before this 6lbser. back to back casts.

It  was  a bright comfortable night . I didnt catch anything big , a couple of three lbers and about thirty fish total . Fish were caught in shoreline cover , flats , rip rap dam and points . These are the four baits I caught fish on with the Wart catching the most and  bigger fish .

...and lesson learned . I lost my last three fish on the buzzbait . Look where the trailer hook keeper is .

With 50% cloud cover and air temps is the low 60's here ~

Could be good but will be comfortable either way. . .

I went last night because there was no cloud cover , 99 per  cent illumination , the moon rose earlier  and mostly because I coudnt wait one more day .

It's mainly Sasquatch and chupacabras around here. They don't bother me though, except when Bigfoot throws rocks at my boat.
