Super User the reel ess Posted July 1, 2017 Super User Posted July 1, 2017 I only have one, the field mouse. I have obnly gotten one fish to blow up on it. The SPRO Rat is a better bait, but they aren't meant to be used in the same places. As for frogs, I prefer the Booyah Pad Crasher and Poppin' Pad Crasher. Quote
Super User Munkin Posted July 2, 2017 Super User Posted July 2, 2017 They look more like they are intended to catch fishermen than fish. Some of them may work like the frog but I haven't given them a thorough test. Allen 1 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted July 2, 2017 Global Moderator Posted July 2, 2017 NO, they've tricked me enough times. I may be a slow learner at times, but I've learned my lesson about buying their baits. 1 Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted July 2, 2017 Super User Posted July 2, 2017 If it moves and the bass interprets that movement to be something to eat, it will strike. It has to. Bass are opportunistic feeders. I am in the camp where I do not believe the bass evaluates the precise pattern of live forage. 1 Quote
frosty Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 I like the bluegill, I don't know that it works any better than a frog, but they bite it and I get good hookups with it so I keep using it. Quote
d-camarena Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 ^^^ i was about to say how much i hate the bluegill 4 Quote

Super User smalljaw67 Posted July 2, 2017 Super User Posted July 2, 2017 I have the bluegill crankbait, the 1/2oz shallow version and it is very good.......At certain times. It is flat sided but it swims different than most flat sides so it hasn't been great in colder water, and it doesn't get the reaction bites like a square bill does but there is a time when it is the best bait you can throw. During the bluegill spawn, and we just had that happen and it was working very well for me again just like every year. Move into the shallows and see where the bluegill have beds which seem to be in 2' of water here, all I need to do is move off the flat until no beds are visible and begin casting and within the first 5 casts I'll have one. They made that crank look like a bluegill and I'm not sure if the action was just luck or if they designed it that way but it swims like a bluegill, but the weird thing is that it will catch more fish during the bluegill spawn than any other crank, or spinnerbait or swim jig but once that spawn is done I do better using other cranks in the same depth range. chattooga_ basser Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 I've caught some nice bass on the pumpkinseed crankbaits, found 'em in the bargain bin section of my local hardware store. Nice lures but the retail price is a little strong for my budget. Quote
Avalonjohn44 Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 I love the Live Target Field Mouse, it is one of my favorite top waters. Also love their hollow bodied frogs, I prefer them over any other that I've tried... That said, as much as I love the aforementioned baits, I absolutely hate the hollow bodied bluegill. It looks and feels like a bath tub toy. It's in my 'ebay box' to see over the winter. Their crank baits are meh. There aren't any I'd really recommend. I like the idea of the bait ball, but haven't bought any... I bought one of their soft plastic threadfin shad swimbaits, but haven't tried it yet though... Quote

They thin out the fishing gear to make room for hunting, at least at our local store. Quote
UPSmallie Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 Bought two of their swimbait lures and was not impressed. The designs look cool, but the tail action imo is not good at all. I'd look to alternative baits in terms of swimbaits. Quote
Super User JustJames Posted July 4, 2017 Super User Posted July 4, 2017 I was gonna buy live target goby swimbait. Hummm might change my mind from this post, any thought? http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/LIVETARGET_Goby_Paddle_Tail_Swimbait_3pk/descpage-LTGBYPT.html Quote

Super User Bankbeater Posted July 5, 2017 Super User Posted July 5, 2017 I have one of their jerkbaits. I have fished with it a couple of times, but it just doesn't impress me. Quote
