I have a hummingbird 788c at the dash

and a 788ci at the bow. I'm looking into upgrading but don't want to break the bank but also don't want to regret not getting the best. I'm wanting side imaging etc what model would you suggest in hummingbird. I'm going to be waiting for a sale like others suggested but just wanted to hear some thoughts on what you guys would recommend. Since this forum has help me on many other things.

I just picked up the helix 9 si. The picture is incredible and I have been overly impressed with the auto chart feature which basically creates my own underwater maps wherever I want. It's amazing the difference in colour with these helix's considering I got it for 859$ which is relatively cheap compared to some of the newer models. YouTube any model your looking at and there will be a comparison and ups and downs to pretty much everything out there. Helped me sort through the brands.

Is there anyway I could keep my old electronics on the boat. Would they be of any use? I've been looking at the 9si it's only a inch smaller and isn't hd. High definition in finishing means what exactly? Will it show the structure any better or just be a dvd vs a blue ray?

DVD vs BluRay is pretty significant, and if you think about how that translates into your fishfinder you'll realize the benefits. The resolution dictates the size of the pixels in your screen, the smaller they are (HD) the more detail you will be able to see and the better you can differentiate structure/fish. Whether or not it is worth it is up to you, but if you take a look at the units in person you can see a big difference in the detail they show. You can still find structure and fish with a lower resolution screen (I do) but you may want the extra fine details provided in the HD unit.

I agree I want the best for my money and something that will last me aleast 3 years what's the one you would recommend for around 1500 each or lower?

Im thinking of getting

onix 8 ci and onix 8 ci si. Should I get them now for what tacklewarehouse sells them for or do you think there will be a better sale
