rtwvumtneer6 Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 All, Headed to Cabela's and BPS both in the near future. Need a new M/F baitcast combo for buzz baits, square bills, some top water, etc. I prefer 7'0 and a 7.1:1. Not saying I will buy it at the store, but I need it in my hand before I pull the trigger. Open to suggestions, or I might literally pick up every rod and reel in the stores lol. Best bang for my buck in the $200 range? And... GO! Thanks! Quote

CTBassin860 Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 Throw a 7.3:1 Tatula CT on a 7' MM Falcon Bucoo. Quote

Looking for the big one Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 Stupid question, but what exactly is the 200$ range? Quote

All around a solid rod. Got it on sale for $99 so I couldn't pass that up! 27 minutes ago, Looking for the big one said: Stupid question, but what exactly is the 200$ range? CroakHunter Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 My new favorite combo is a falcon buccoo 7'4 H with a tatula ct 8.1:1 gear ratio. Reel is 80 bucks at American legacy now and rod is about 100 bucks retail Quote
Bassman27 Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 Duckett ghost seven foot crankin rod paired with a lews speed spool. ($200) 1 Quote
Looking for the big one Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 Okay thx. Check out the Shimano Exage and Compre E Series Rods. This is such a difficult question because of how clustered the 100$ range is for rods and reel, and you're going to get lots of options on here. In the end, you should be the one to decide on what fits your needs. Quote

Super User fishnkamp Posted June 30, 2017 Super User Posted June 30, 2017 A rod I love for those baits is the Falcon Micro series 7 foot MH 1/4 to 3/4. It specs for baits like spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, cranks etc. They call it the Trap Caster model. I do not think BP or Cabelas carries the Bucoo Micros. 1 Quote
