Best bass reel on the market!

I currently use cabelas arachnid reels, because of the lifetime warranty and shimano curados. I know everyone is entitled to there own opinion and has there own favorite reel, but I was wanting to know, which reel do you consider the best as of right Now for catching big bass. Some of the things I look for our is good breaking system good drag handles good line capacity how it feels in the hand and warranty. I know this subject has been covered many of times but why not again? There's always better reals coming out each year so let's hear it!

The best reel I have tried is the MIT MGL and will leave it at that

Best for big bass is how your question reads... Luckily I don't live in big bass country so my reels are more suited for dinks.

 

Shimano or Daiwa make the best IMO. I have had reels by every manufacture but they are the only reel brands I have left in my "regular" rotation. Which reel is best? No such thing especially for those with technique specific gear. A 50 or 70 sized shimano is not going to be your deep crank or swimbait reel. A Tranx or Curado 300E are not going to be your weighless plastics reel.

 

I am not sure I could pick a favorite reel as majority of my reels are technique specific.

Two reels that have really impressed me are the shimano  calcutta conquest and the daiwa tatula ct.

 

As far as "best" I dunno I like nice reels but know that I could probably land a "big" bass on a wal mart special.

First the question has to be qualified by price range. As much as I am in love with all of my Daiwa Tatula, Tatula Type Rs, and Tatula CTs they are all reels that range roughly from $100 to $200 in retail price depending upon the retailer'e offering at the time.  All of these reels have shown they cast great, are super reliable, and have great drag systems as well as smooth easy to adjust braking system.  They do everything I need them to do and I feel they are the best choice in their price range. 

 

However Daiwa makes plenty of reels that retail much higher and have built a reputation for even better performance. I am sure those that are willing to spend up to $400 for reels like the SV103, a SV105, a Steeze SV or a Zillion TW would tell you that those are the best.  I would be disappointed if a reel like a Zillion TW was not significantly better than my Tatula CT since it costs nearly 4 times as much.

Looked up the arachnid and it seems VERY similiar to the Daiwa CT series. Anyone fish both, and can tell me the similarities/differences. If they are basically the same reel I am interested because of the lifetime guarantee.

I don't fish either of them but Daiwa makes the Arachnid for cabelas

Daiwa Steez, Calcutta conquest are my 2 favorites. Zillion SV and Metanium MGL are great reels too.

The Arachnid is a 1st gen Tatula Type R that's branded for Cabelas but made by Daiwa. Reels are 100% the same minus color scheme. There used to be a Cabelas prodigy reel which was the same as a Daiwa HSTA.

My favorite is a toss up between the Pixy/Alphas/Zillion. All are very fun to fish. Hard to pick just one.

personally i'm a daiwa guy, i love my t3 ballistic i would love to pick up a t3 mx 1016xh which i did find locally for 200 so i think im going to do that when i get back from holidays

This is my second year back at fishing after a long hiatus.  I started out with two budget reels that seemed to work great and I still use them.  As I watched video and read this site I couldn't imagine how people were casting so far.

 

I recently bought a Lews Tournament Pro G.  I now know what I was missing.......smooth, and casts a mile.  Couple this with the fact that I suffer much less backlash with this than my budget reels. As a matter of fact I think the only backlash I had was on the first cast.

I have one of the older grey colored Prodigy reels.  A long time user of baitcast reels tuned it for me.  His comment afterwards was that he was surprised at how well the reel responded to tuning.  In fact he planned on picking up a couple to keep on his boat for friends to use.

 

OP.  No idea what would be the best bass reel (baitcast reel) on the market as the top-of-the-line reels are beyond my budget.  Most of my expensive (to me) reels were purchased used.  As already stated, the reel's use would dictate to a certain extent the "best" reel.  Most of my "best" reels are no longer in production.  Love my PXL for light lures and have a new-to-me Pixy Airy Red that should work as well considering how much I put in it for tuning and upgrades.  Love my 50th Zillion for anything from 3/8 oz. up.  Two excellent all-around reels (IMO) are the Primmus and Helios Air.  No idea of longevity, but they have been great reels so far for me.  The TD-Z 105H is another fantastic reel.

 

The best spinning reel for the budget minded is probably the President.  Many would probably suggest the Shimano Stella or Daiwa EXIST for high end reels.

If you're throwing a dropshot it be the real with the best drag. If it's a big swimbait it's a 400te. I just caught my p.b. on 200e5. Not necessarily the best for big bass but it fit the system I was using that day.

He'll I could land a big bass on a Wal-Mart special also, but I'm looking for more of something that can take a beating and still be able to hammer the fish, as I fish about 5 days a week if not more. Diawa tatula is pretty much the same as the cabelas arachnid from what I've seen

I'll tell you I currently fish the arachnid and it can take some beating from catching striper than right back to catching bass best real I've found so far.

When I was heavy into saltwater angling, I owned reels made by Abu Garcia, Newell (now defunct),

Daiwa, Shimano and Penn. With respect to 'dollar value', my favorite reel makers were Daiwa & Shimano.

Over time however, and especially in freshwater, I've become a devout advocate of Shimano reels

and I'm not expecting that to change in the forseeable future.
