Im just curious as to what type of fishing a hvy power xf casting rod at 7'6" would be good for? I went to bass pro and saw the johnny morris platinum rods in mh and hvy and the only action the hvy rods come in is xf.

flipping, pitching and punching. Haven't felt these rods but assuming they're pool cues and wouldn't be too fun to cast with.

They come with micro guides but i dont know if that would really make a difference considering how stiff it is.

Put a reel with line on the rod at BPS, tie on a casting weight similar to what you use and try it in the store.

Guides don't change the rod blank power or action. Extra fast means most of the rod bends at the tip end down about 18" when casting lures that are nominal weight for that rod.

If you like to flip jigs and punch rigs, this rod is made for it.

How you think it would work throwing 1/2 oz spinnerbaits?

This rod would be good for large spinnerbaits, swimbaits, punching, flipping and pitching jigs. It could also be used for larger Carolina and Texas rigged worms(10" plus). I'd use it for swimbaits or punching(dropping bombs).

This H/XF rod is rated 3/8-2oz lures, you would be better off with this series rod in 7'2" MH/F if you are using 1/2 oz spinnerbaits.

I have that exact power and tip in a 7'3" rod made by anouther company and I can tell you it makes a awesome rod for throwing ribbets frogs and punching and throwing C rig's.

Some may not agree but it works awesome for me.

I'd look to that for flipping, punching, or frogging. Maybe a jig rod but a little long for my tastes for that.

Good frog rod, if you like a longer rod for frogs. That sounds like a rod made for dragging football jigs and carolina rigs to me.
