Just got back into fishing since I was about 17 and I've chosen strictly bass fishing.  I've been going for about a week now and here's my first decent sized bass I just pulled today.  I'm excited about catching more and bigger bass.  I'm Devin Hall and I'm a 28 year old former Marine from West Virginia.  My favorite spot to fish is Hawks Nest which runs off of the New River.  The link below is my personal best which will improve over time.  Ive done research and have more to do about fishing bass in he past week and it's paying off.  I caught 4 bass today but this one was the biggest.  More to come

thank you, I hope to catch some bigger ones soon.  One thing about bass fishing that I've realized is you can never learn enough.

Thanks!  Most of the fish yesterday were pretty small.  There were some big ones out there but I didn't happen to catch one.  It'd be nice to have a boat lol.  I bank fish or find rocks in the middle of the river to jump to.  Around where in WV are ya?  Don't have to say the town or nothin.  I'm in Oak Hill, Fayette County.

yeah i get that a lot lol...but for anyone outside the Marines they call us former so I just go along with it.  With fellow Marines we all know what we are.  When it comes to public once we aren't active duty we're former Marines or nothing at all to them.  Anyways back to bass fishing lol.  Hope to see all you guys around the forum some time, Im waiting on a big catch, the New River is pretty slow right now and I don't believe in fish finders lol.

I live near Martinsburg way up in the Eastern Panhandle, Berkeley County and fish the Upper Potomac River 99% of the time and the Shenandoah River the other 1%. No boat for me either so I'm wading if the water level safely allows it, otherwise I'm bank fishing.

I catch lots of small fish but for me there's nothing like a river smallmouth!!

there's definitely a lot of decent smallmouth in the river.  i'm struggling with them taking my bait up under the rocks with them.  i guess i'm just not reacting quick enough.  there's actually a place in martinsburg i want to fish but it's quite a drive from where i am.
