XpressJeff Posted June 26, 2017 Posted June 26, 2017 The last time the Brewers were in 1st at the All Star break was 1982 I think. Feels good for the lowest salary in MLB! Choke Cubs!! 1 Quote

XpressJeff Posted June 26, 2017 Author Posted June 26, 2017 You bet he is! Paul Molitor is hitting .412 too! Quote
Jtrout Posted June 26, 2017 Posted June 26, 2017 I know Josh hader the new pitcher he just got called up a few weeks ago 1 Quote
XpressJeff Posted June 26, 2017 Author Posted June 26, 2017 Hader is seemingly a good looking young pitcher. My wife says he's not exactly a "chic magnet". Well, he could use a haircut, but he does pitch well! The bulk of the team is Young, Inexperienced and allot of fun to watch. Quote
Super User Jar11591 Posted June 26, 2017 Super User Posted June 26, 2017 Makes me so happy to see the Chicago Flubs NOT in first place. 1 Quote

Super User Choporoz Posted June 26, 2017 Super User Posted June 26, 2017 They're still playing ball in MKE? Who knew? JK...good to hear...I last cared about the Brewers in '94....14 game losing streak, topped only by a strike sent me away from major league baseball...forever. I've almost gotten a bit of interest in the Nats in the years I've lived out here, but....not quite...if I ever give MLB another chance, it will have to be with the Brewers...spent many 70's summer days in County Stadium bleachers ($2/ticket)...a 90's decade of worse than mediocrity along with the strike and I was done. A couple years after Miller Park opened, I was in town the same week as the Cubs and took in a game to see the new park....I am still sickened at the memory that there were clearly more Cubs fans at the game than Brewers fans. though I don't follow, I'd be happy to hear the Brewers have good fortune...if only for the diehard fans that have stuck it out all these years 1 Quote

XpressJeff Posted June 26, 2017 Author Posted June 26, 2017 I will tell you what guys, the Brewers have developed a pretty good fan following, loyal too! The problem with games when Cubs are in town is that the jerks will overpay for tickets (different economy level from the Windy City) and act like id10Ts in the stands. It has been easy for me to develope a loyalty to a losing club there. I lived in the area for 12 years. The new owner (Mark Attanasio) has done a good job with player development and selective trades. The stadium doesn't hurt either. They are an NL club. The joke about Stormin Norman was Showing Deakn's age. Quote
XpressJeff Posted July 9, 2017 Author Posted July 9, 2017 How about that! All the way to the All Star break and still in First. Life is good! Hand me a Bratwurst! Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted July 9, 2017 Super User Posted July 9, 2017 Winning is Always Fun ! Certainly makes watching the games better when there's an expectation that your team will, at the very least, be in the game. First place now is a boost, but having the only winning record in a division will do that. With LA playing out of their minds the way they are, there's a decent chance they will be the one's to beat to get to the WS. Still a ton of games left to be played and we can all continue to 'manage our teams' from the couch. One of my favorite pastimes btw. Hope you continue to enjoy the ride. A-Jay 1 Quote

I don't think they're going anywhere for a while. So, I'm just gonna have to go along with you on the "Choke Cubs" thing. Anybody BUT the Cubs!!! 1 Quote
greentrout Posted July 9, 2017 Posted July 9, 2017 We have the Brewers' AA team here called the Shuckers who play in a new MGM ballpark. Doing ok. Never will get used to the Brewers being shifted into the National league. Never liked it. Remember the Harvey's Wallbangers Brewers who were a great team who lost in seven to the Cardinals in the 82 World Series. I'm an American league fan who does not like seeing the Yankees play the Houston Astros in an intra-league game. Never... 1 Quote
