BuzzHudson19c Posted June 26, 2017 Posted June 26, 2017 Does anyone else cut the clacker off Booyah buzzbaits? I like their buzzbaits. The wire is a perfect length and the blade is a good size but I hate the clacker. I have never caught a fish with that thing on. After I get home from the store I cut the clacker off, cut off all those little beads, press down the rivet and hit the rivet and blade with a file. I'm aware there are other brands out there, but the selection at my local stores is not great and I'm not spending 10 bucks on a buzz. Anyone else cut the clackers off or just run them as is? Quote
papajoe222 Posted June 26, 2017 Posted June 26, 2017 I have one and dislike the clacker also. I didn't cut it off, just haven't used it. I don't even use it at night as both the black buzzers I use give off plenty of noise squeeking and churning up the water. If I ever run into stained or muddied water, I may give it a go, but the waters I frequent are rarely, if ever, off colored. Quote
ClackerBuzz Posted June 26, 2017 Posted June 26, 2017 **reads first sentence and faints** I'm gonna need a stiff drink to make it through this thread. 5 Quote
beginningfisherman Posted June 26, 2017 Posted June 26, 2017 I'm with clackerbuzz on this one. I've done just fine with the clacker so I don't see any reason to cut it off Quote
38 Super Fan Posted June 26, 2017 Posted June 26, 2017 I like the booyah clacker. I've got an old one that I bet I've caught over 200 fish on. Those and the cavitrons (when I want something a little more subtle) are the only two types I throw anymore. Quote
Super User tcbass Posted June 26, 2017 Super User Posted June 26, 2017 Really my two favorite buzzbaits. I don't cut the clacker off. Cavitron is number 1 by far and then clacker. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted June 26, 2017 Global Moderator Posted June 26, 2017 The clackers are great, no way a bass can ignore that noisy thing going over their heads. 1 Quote
Super User scaleface Posted June 26, 2017 Super User Posted June 26, 2017 Another lure that I possess but never used . Quote

georgeyew Posted June 26, 2017 Posted June 26, 2017 The clacker buzzbait caught me countless of nice fish this year so far. Quote

I like the Strike kings a bit better, but yes, I almost always take those silly things off. 1 Quote
Super User the reel ess Posted June 26, 2017 Super User Posted June 26, 2017 I have one and caught a 5 pounder on it in a pond not known for big fish so I left it alone. I was on the fence before. Quote
BuzzHudson19c Posted June 27, 2017 Author Posted June 27, 2017 I figured it would be split, but at least I'm not the only one. My wife was laughing at me after we got back from Field and Stream the other day, "You just bought those things and the first you do is cut them all up." 1 Quote
