Bent Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 Anybody else see the full page ad for the new Curado 200? Black finish and Micro Module gears! Quote
BassThumb Posted June 24, 2017 Posted June 24, 2017 I wonder if you'll have to oil this one every three trips to keep it quiet on the cast. 1 Quote

I've had the same experience with my Curado 200I, it performs well but needs a drop of oil pretty frequently. I also have a Curado 70, and greatly prefer the feel and aesthetics of it to the 200I. Hoping the new Curado is another step in that direction. Quote
Bent Posted June 24, 2017 Author Posted June 24, 2017 Sorry about the terrible quality, couldn't find a pic online so snapped a photo of the magazine with my phone. 2 Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 The beauty of the old centrifugal brake system was the set it and forget it. An ultra adjustable cent brake is pointless to me. If you need more, dual breaking is a better system imo. 3 Quote
NathanDLTH Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 Think I'll stick with the current 200 and 70 models. Quote
Big-Bass Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 So a 200 Curado J but what about the 70 I? Is there going to be a new 70 size? Or 50? Quote

Dramer77 Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 I personally love the new 70 much more than the 200i Quote

I also like mag brake system on daiwa SV105 where if I cast short let say 5 feet, I can adjust dial down a little bit and hit right at target, can't do that on curado 70 Quote
Super User lmbfisherman Posted June 25, 2017 Super User Posted June 25, 2017 70 is superior and I beg to differ about the 50E. Even though I love both of them, the 70 just reels smoother and better in my hands. I'm also very accurate with my 70 XG. I'm pinpoint accurate with it. However, I'm scared to skip with it. Quote
Hulkster Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 if they keep a 5.x cranking reel I might have to sell my 200i PG and swap it out for one of these new puppies. I have no issues with the brakes on the 200i but everyone says the new braking system is way better?? 1 Quote

Open the side plate and put a drop on a Q-tip and run it around the inside of the ring, just enough that you can tell that there is actually oil on it. You'll have to do it about once a month to every couple weeks depending on how often you fish. It was more hassle than I was willing to deal with. Kept my 70, it's just the perfect size, but all the 200 I's are long gone. 1 Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted June 25, 2017 Global Moderator Posted June 25, 2017 I gotta check out those 70's. This isn't the first thread where you guys keep tallking about how much better they are compared to the I, which I really like. Mike Quote
Jon G Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 I can't tell on the picture but does does the gear ratio say 6.2 or 8.2? If the new curado has a 8 gear ratio it will be my new frogging reel. Quote

Usually its just from me but this time it seemed to be coming from the reel. I'll Qtip her tonight. Quote
