adbassfishing Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 I'm going on a family vacation next week to Myrtle Beach (Technically Surfside Beach). Does anyone know any good places to fish from the bank around there? I'm staying near Ocean Lakes in anyone knows where that is. Also whats a good color soft plastic for the area? Thanks Quote
lilbuddy Posted June 26, 2017 Posted June 26, 2017 When you get to your location just bring up google maps on your phone or use hotel computer... Search around and look for bodies of water. If the body of water has a name on it like "Lake X" then its probably public. Heck if I were you maybe try to see if you can get on a golf course pond...theres only like 6 million golf courses there. As far as the color goes thats all going to depend on what the water looks like and the weather conditions. IMO you can't go wrong with some green pumpkin or junebug...I would just pick up a bag of each. Its going to be hot as hell so get out first thing in the morning or in the evening... Have fun and get you a big ole' toad. 1 Quote
Little Scrooge Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 I am going to the same place in another week let us know how you did. I actually stay in Ocean Lakes and have always fished the ponds on the property there in the past - just little dinks in early morning, but enough to stay occupied. Big Scrooge and I would definitely be willing to venture out to look for something better Quote
Super User the reel ess Posted June 30, 2017 Super User Posted June 30, 2017 I hired a guide out of Little River once. It wasn't worth the $$$. We couldn't find any reds, flounder or trout so we caught some sharks off a nearshore reef. That was fun, but not $350 fun. You can drive down to Huntington Beach St Park. There were people fishing on the beach last time we went. There's parking, bathrooms, etc. I think there's some freshwater there too because we saw some gators on the way in/out. We usually stay in Pawleys Island. I take my kayak and put in the inlets behind the island. I've caught a few flounder and a toadfish. I have seen reds swimming there, but couldn't catch any. Quote

Black River Adventures. If you're interested. That's a lot cheaper than a guide with a boat. Quote
JakeNES Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 I am a local. Crystal Lake is a private pond! Just ask a resident for permission. You'll be fine, but Prestwick Golf and Homes is near there and all private. Best places to fish are 15 minutes inland in Conway area. Game Wardens will be asking for fishing permits in the better spots. Just a heads up. The golf course idea someone had isn't bad either. Lol. Quote
