Super User Cgolf Posted June 22, 2017 Super User Posted June 22, 2017 Just curious to all those knocking the imitation vs the real thing. My guess is that if the salt content and plastic formulation are slightly different, then you got yourself two different baits that will sink at a different rate and shimmy differently on the drop. My guess is because of that depending on conditions one will out produce the other, and it won't always be that one is always dominant. Kind of similar to changing your sinker weight with other plastics to change up the fall rate depending on the bass' mood. Sorry to to the OP for the continued hijacking of the thread, but the convo got me thinking. Quote

Everyone tries to get on the band wagon by duplicating the lure that created the classification by offering a lower price point, never a superior lure. What anyone needs to consider is price per unit by dividing the price by number of pieces in the bag. Now consider the price per hour on the water vs number of bass caught per hour. The original is always a better deal. Tom Quote
Basseditor Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 I've ordered special runs of Senkos. Although you are looking for a standard SKU so it should be easier. I needed 6-inch Smoke/Hologram Senkos. Their standard SKUs have 5" and 7 inch. No 6" I went through a dealer who worked with me to order and gave me a small discount off retail. It took several months by the way. I had to buy the whole run. 1,750 baits and I had them packed in 50-count bags. (That's 35 bags.) I sold 20 bags to friends. (They had agreed to buy, before I ordered.) I use them for pitching in all types of cover. (Hence the 6-inch, which is a little heavier.) I've used 2.5 bags so far. And, I have a bunch of broken ones on my work bench waiting to be mended.) Did I mention this is the best color/size? PM if you want more details. 1 Quote
Super User Boomstick Posted June 22, 2017 Super User Posted June 22, 2017 I've been buying mine on an as needed basis at the local Walmart for convenience but I they are either $5.69 or $6.29 there anyway depending on the color, so most bulk orders really aren't that much cheaper. Quote
Super User TOXIC Posted June 23, 2017 Super User Posted June 23, 2017 Within the last year or so. Just make sure someone hasn't bought bulk "Senko-Like" baits and packaged them up as the originals. They could have ordered the 100 count bags before GYCB stopped that packaging as well. If you want, I can take a pic of what the factory 100 count bags look like. Quote

I trust this guy, but I travel for work all the time and am allways hunting around small tackle shops for deals or weird stuff. Quote
