Hi all, does anyone else use Sufix Siege mono on spinning gear? I put 8 pound test siege on my 3000 stradic yesterday and I was amazed at how long and smooth it cast, for supposedly a 'tough' (aka stiff) line.

I think I got a bad spool lol

this may be my new go to for mono applications. its strong as hell but seems to cast like a dream. I would say it cast 95% as good as the elite, but it seems much stronger for its rated pound test.

I had read some bad reviews of it on spinning gear (but no pound test specified). At least in the lower pound tests the stuff seems awesome.

anyone else brave enough to use it for spinning gear?

I tried Elite this year it was on for three trips before braid went back on the reel. Nothing against the line I will still use it for leaders but after having used briad for a while I just cant use anything else for my main line.

I will say I was surprised how well it held up against rocks.

I've never used a Suffix product that disappointed.

Although I don't use it on a spinning reel, I do use Siege on several baitcast reels.  It will coil like a slinky after sitting awile.  However, the coils haven't cause me a problem yet with my first few casts.....unlike Big Game.  I don't consider it a "stiff" (aka hard) line.  Obviously not as soft as Elite.  Not as stiff as Big Game.  I use Elite, Siege, Performance and 832.  Even picked up a cheap spool of Fuse at Ollies.  Highly visible, but may be the one Sufix product I won't be replenishing. Only time will tell for sure.

I guess I was just expecting it to have a lot of memory and not cast well on a spinning reel.  but it cast very smooth and long. I was surprised to say the least. now granted, it might be more 'coilly' on my next outing after it sits on my reel for awhile. time will tell.

I use 10 pound test on my baitcasting rig and was impressed, that's why I

figured I give 8 pound a try on my spinning rig.
