TxHawgs Posted June 19, 2017 Posted June 19, 2017 Does anyone do well with SK spinnerbaits or is it just me? A lot of them aren't cheap either, 7+bucks for some of their sb's. Recently I have started buying other brands and there are a lot I want to try, I probably have a 100 of the SK ones and I'm thinking of selling them. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted June 19, 2017 Global Moderator Posted June 19, 2017 I've done well with the new Hack Attack spinnerbaits this year. They're $5 online at Academy right now. I've been doing best with a white one with an small orange Colorado blade and a larger copper Colorado blade that I swapped out with the gold Oklahoma blade it came with. 1 Quote
TxHawgs Posted June 19, 2017 Author Posted June 19, 2017 Thanks boss, what's the water clarity on the lake your throwing those colors? Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted June 19, 2017 Global Moderator Posted June 19, 2017 Flooded, couple 2 or 3 inches maybe. Quote
Super User Fishes in trees Posted June 19, 2017 Super User Posted June 19, 2017 I've never had much success with Strike King spinner baits. I prefer Terminators or War Eagle spinnerbaits. Quote
Super User bowhunter63 Posted June 19, 2017 Super User Posted June 19, 2017 Went to War Eagle and never looked back.Love the 3/8 ounce and there mouse color. They run true and have top quality parts. Quote

Mj89 Posted June 26, 2017 Posted June 26, 2017 I like the Kvd finesse spinnerbaits. I use them on pressured lakes given the right conditions ( usually a little wind) and have great success on them. I like to use shad or bluegill imitating colors 2 Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted June 26, 2017 Super User Posted June 26, 2017 You know @A-Jay, I will admit that I never read that write up until now, but being a spinnerbait junkie, I have always believed in the burning technique. It even works in the dog daze of summer when the water is so warm you'd think that the bass were deeper in their winter haunts. All your advice from downsizing blades to adding weight to trailer options are dead nuts on. Well written and some great advice for the novice and experienced spinnerbait fisherman alike. 1 Quote

Super User the reel ess Posted June 26, 2017 Super User Posted June 26, 2017 I haven't bought one since I discovered War Eagle. Quote
Super User scaleface Posted June 26, 2017 Super User Posted June 26, 2017 I have some thirty to thirty five year old Strike Kings with the straight lines on the blades . Quote
YoTone Posted June 26, 2017 Posted June 26, 2017 I read @A-Jays write up a few months ago and ordered a few burners. Caught me some really nice bass including my personal best of 5.5lb. they do tend to not swim straight after a few nice catches but other than the terminator t'1 I dont see any other spinner that always runs straight. im also a fan of the strike king tour grade night spinner. i bought a lot of them on tw's black friday sale, 30% off strike king products and i took full advantage of it. 1 Quote

Super User scaleface Posted June 26, 2017 Super User Posted June 26, 2017 When someone post that they are having trouble catching fish most everyone recommends slowing down . Speeding things up is often the right move . 1 Quote
Super User Raul Posted June 27, 2017 Super User Posted June 27, 2017 I pretty much fish exclusively with SK spinnerbaits, mine are quite old, got them back in the 90's and since I seldomly loose one they have lasted me, the couple of things I've done are sharpening the hook and replaced skirts. 1 Quote
