Finesse is the way I like to fish

Wayfarer are my signature sunglasses. I have been wearing them since Blues Brothers and Risky Business came out in theaters.

Wish I could change my name to NY Wayfarer. I think that would be a better name as NY is my home state and I am not so much a finesse fisherman since discovering these forums. You guys have inspired me to try new techniques.  I am always casting and retrieving a beetlespin, spinnerbait or swimbait during my fishing trips now. Next up are cranks and jerkbaits.

We haven't done this in awhile, and we have a lot of new members, so here we go.

What's the scoop with your screen name? Some are obvious, some not at all.

I'll start

rough women's lotion

---gh---o----------ti

---f-----i-----------sh

Clever, eh? Wish I lived up to it.

The one that baffles me is Angry John. I've had several voice, text and email exchanges with the man, and I have to say he is about as far from angry as can be. I'm more inclined to call him Gentleman John. So, amigo. Wassup wit da name

Clever. I still look at your posts and pronounce it as Ghoti as in the Gambino crime boss. Not sure is I can retrain my brain to read it Fish.

This explains it better.  The first recognition of someone doing this with the word, fish, was in 1855.

Read your link and it reminds me of a skit Ghaliger the comedian did with the English language.

Same here. I also imagine Ghoti as the founder of the Bass Mafia tackle box company. ;)

last name is Miller, 349 was the telephone exchange where I grew up, and I've used millertime349 as an email address for 20+ years... shortened it up for a login name years ago, and '79 is also the year I was hatched.

John Franchot

Back in the day, we were only allowed 8 character logins for the network at work.  Mine was "jfrancho" so I used it here, but I used it for the login name in the old BassResource system, and you couldn't have the handle name be the same as your user name.  hence, I became J Francho.  I thought about changing it, but so many people call me "j franco" in person, it sort of stuck.  Even one of my best friends calls me that.  I suppose it beats Johnny, my other nickname.

My screen name is Hez...an abbreviated version of my middle name which is Hezekiah.  Ever since the internet became a thing - Hez has been my internet nickname.

So mine came from the old Myspace days. My name on Myspace was King_of_the_damned because I liked the movie Queen of the Damned quite a bit. I liked that name so much I changed it and added my shortened name instead of king. Ibrahim (Ib), and its pronounced "EEB" and used it as an email address ib_of_the_damned@_____.com for over 15 years now.

Hence, ib_of_the_damned...

Got it from a old man i use to take on guided duck hunts when i was in high school, i used a Browning Belguim mag duck 12 gauge A-5 with a 32 inch full choked barrel, i had a rep of knocking down birds that guys shooting the 3 1/2 inch shells couldnt and the old man took to calling me blaster and then

someone coined me A5BLASTER because when someone would ask who had shot the duck or goose that was farther away from the blind then the rest they would say A5BLASTER did.

Its still my favorite gun to this day got to be a man to shoot that thing more then three times

Mine is simply because I love throwing a frog.... sometimes I should really put it down but I think one bass caught on a frog is worth 5 bass caught any other way. I have a problem and there isn't a 12 step process to fix it!

Last name and combined with the smartest sea creature. Stole it from my brother for a forum name. He uses it for gaming. My normal screen name was taken.

I hear you on that. When I hunted turkeys, I used a Mossberg 835 pump, with the 3.5" mag turkey loads.  It wasn't an auto, so there was even more recoil.  Never felt it when shooting at a turkey, but you didn't want to spend too many shots sighting it in, as it would about take your shoulder off.  Also, made sure there was no turkeys behind the one you were shooting at or you would be looking at extra birds on the ground after the shot.

As to my screen name, my first screen name was cutbait - as in the second part of fish or cut bait.  I recently changed it and decided to personalize it and make it my first name combined with my town (Penfield) and state (NY) location as coin - penny, so I could remember it easily.
