I seem to always start out fishing by casting into the shore.  After a few hours when I have beat the bank to death with the bait I move out into open water and start looking for structure on the bottom.

Mine is the name of my favorite cartoon character when I was a kid.

Love the old Saturday morning cartoons.

I always confused Mumbly with the dog from the Wacky Racers cartoon named Mutley. He was basically Mumbly without the trenchcoat.

I love fishing weeds.  top water, punching, or fishing the edges, if there  is any vegetation in the lake, that is where I will be.

I used to live in the log house up the hill.

I've since moved so I should probably change my username to west branch, or something, since I'm now on the west branch of the penobscot river.

We haven't done this in awhile, and we have a lot of new members, so here we go.

What's the scoop with your screen name? Some are obvious, some not at all.

I'll start

rough women's lotion

---gh---o----------ti

---f-----i-----------sh

Clever, eh? Wish I lived up to it.

The one that baffles me is Angry John. I've had several voice, text and email exchanges with the man, and I have to say he is about as far from angry as can be. I'm more inclined to call him Gentleman John. So, amigo. Wassup wit da name

I literally spend 5 minutes staring at my screen trying to figure out what you meant. Finally got it though;)

Got it from a old man i use to take on guided duck hunts when i was in high school, i used a Browning Belguim mag duck 12 gauge A-5 with a 32 inch full choked barrel, i had a rep of knocking down birds that guys shooting the 3 1/2 inch shells couldnt and the old man took to calling me blaster and then

someone coined me A5BLASTER because when someone would ask who had shot the duck or goose that was farther away from the blind then the rest they would say A5BLASTER did.

Its still my favorite gun to this day got to be a man to shoot that thing more then three times

just saw this. I was partly right! Gotta love Browning...

In my younger days I worked in a manufacturing plant with some guys who, for whatever reason, had a hard time pronouncing my last name so they shortened it to a nickname. "Ess" or "The Ess". Then another guy came to work there with that same nickname so I jokingly called myself "The Real Ess." And since this is a fishing site, I changed the spelling of Real to Reel. Thus, TheReelEss.

Hunting related; a play on the actual definition and my philosophy on bird hunting., specifically waterfowl. Always have a well trained dog, and no pump guns.

I had an airfreshener in the shape of a largemouth bass hanging from my rear view  mirror. My wife said "it stinks" one day. That was around the time I joined the forum. (It still hangs there, though I doubt it smells anymore)

I come from a tropical island and like to fish for bass. While I don't mind targeting other fish, bass have a special place in my heart that no other species can take, lol.  Had a similar screen name on another site, islandtrucha, similar logic.  Trucha is trout in Spanish, but I am neither Spanish nor hispanic, but for some odd reason, I know more Spanish (English first language) than either my mother's or father's native tongues.

I joined this site as a little kid crazy about fishing and I had just recently discovered the senko.

I remain a little kid to most of you, still crazy about fishing, and still love the senko. Just not quite as much.

I always had great respect for my great grandfather and I use his nickname on forums etc. His name was Thomas (Rook) Monday from the mountains of East Tennessee and he managed to make a fortune at a time around the turn of the 20th century when people were making pennies on the day doing manual labor.
